The Lowdown

Did you know that fiery Korean pickle kimchi dates from the 8th century?  Or that kimchi was a contender in Huffington Post's 2013 Superfood Death Match?

But to say that Korean cuisine is all kimchi, chili & BBQs is like saying Aussies only eat pies & burnt snags. Patently false.

At this Korean Adventure, start with an indulgent, mainly non-spicy, multi-course lunch at a Korean restaurant that's >50 years old.

Do a guided shopping trip to a huge, Kpop-blasting Korean grocer.  Ponder burning questions such as:
- What are the top 3 Korean tidbits?  Exactly why are they so popular?
- Which 2 Korean products will effortlessly zhuzh up your cooking?

In between, learn Amazing Facts About Korean Culture You Can Show Off To Your Friends Later.  Such as: the first kimchi wasn't spicy or even red!

Finish with a rare treat of traditional Mid-autumn Festival sweets, like Korean songpyeon rice cakes and strictly seasonal Chinese mooncakes.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
- A minimum of 4 people are required for this activity to take place.
- Bookings close on 10th Sep.

What to expect

1.  A Seriously Good Banquet. A bountiful, wholesome, multi-course lunch at an authentic Korean restaurant.  Not just Korean BBQ. Learn the intricacies and etiquette of Korean dining. Savour a broth simmered for 30 hours.

2.  A guided shopping trip to an unusually big and bright Korean grocer.

3.  Mid-autumn Festival-themed desserts, eaten by Koreans and Chinese since ancient times.

4.  Insider's knowledge of food gems that are local secrets.

What to bring

  • A bottle of water.
  • A chlller bag for any chilled purchases.
  • Cash in case the shopping bug hits. Your banquet and dessert are included in the price.
  • Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

You'll love this if...

- You want to order and talk like a pro in front of your friends at Korean restaurants.
- You love food trivia and history presented in a fun way.
- You love cooking with new and interesting ingredients.
- You're dying to know why Chinese children look for a lady and a rabbit in the moon.

Remember: 2 certainties apply to all my food events:
1. Nobody leaves hungry.
2. Everyone learns a fascinating new snippet to show off to friends.
